Dr. Willie Lawrence obtained his medical degree from and completed his residency at Harvard Medical School and completed his fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has been honored as a Super Doctor in 2007, 2008 and 2009, as Father of the Year of the Kansas City Juvenile Diabetes Association, with the National Power to End Stroke Award from the American Heart Association and with the Heart and Soul Physician Award. For the American Heart Association, he has served for the Midwest Affiliate, on the board of directors, on the National Professional Education Committee, and as an AHA Spokesperson. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
